How donations are used

Focused on practical philanthropic outcomes.

Funds are directed in line with the Foundation’s approved public-benefit mission, priorities and governance processes.

Poverty alleviation

Programmes that respond to immediate hardship and expand pathways to economic participation.

Affordable housing

Work that advances dignified, accessible housing and stronger neighbourhoods.

School bursaries

Education support that helps qualifying learners and students continue their studies.

Youth development

Skills, learning and development opportunities that prepare young people for work and enterprise.

Community development

Long-term social and civic initiatives aligned with the Foundation’s mission, including the New City of Alexandra.

Accountable delivery

Administration, oversight and reporting needed to direct approved funds responsibly.

Important distinction

Donation, participation and distributable profit are different.

Donations

Philanthropic gifts support the Foundation’s approved public-benefit work and do not generate a financial return.

SAMBO members

Eligible SAMBO members are intended to share in 90% of distributable profits through regulated investment funds, subject to final agreements and actual results.

The Foundation

The Luthando Maduna Foundation participates in 10% of distributable profits, alongside mission-supporting management teams, to advance the broader city-building mission.

The 90/10 model applies only where distributable profit exists. It is not guaranteed and remains subject to regulated structures, executed agreements, applicable law and verified financial results.
